Active response to fight the pandemic yields Outstanding Supplier award
Ever since the Covid-19 broke out in early 2020, Ahlstrom-Munksjö has been very active in fighting the pandemic. First and foremost this has meant ensuring the safety of its personnel, while safeguarding the company’s plants stay operational and maintaining outstanding customer service.
The company has plants and operations in China, South Korea and Northern Italy, all areas that were among the first to be hit by the pandemic. The learnings and best practices from these sites have been used across the company’s global manufacturing base in Asia, Europe and the Americas as the virus continued to spread.
Ahlstrom-Munksjö has also showed agility in its operations. The company’s face mask materials business grew by fivefold within a mere six months. This was done by expanding production to lines that were traditionally used to manufacture other products without any additional capital expenditure.
These markable achievements could not have been possible without the willingness and efforts of the company’s personnel to run the extra mile. This has not been unnoticed by Cummins Inc., a key customer for Ahlstrom-Munksjö’s Filtration business.
For Giuseppina Gigliotti, a customer service specialist at Ahlstrom-Munksjö’s Turin site in Italy, this meant constant contact with Cummins. There were weekly calls to find solutions to meet the customer’s requirements. As a result, the team did not fail any delivery or timeline requested. In a time when so many factors are beyond our control, Cummins is grateful to have dedicated supplier partners such as Ahlstrom-Munksjö.
“Ahlstrom-Munksjö has demonstrated their dedication to the customer by setting up regular and proactive communications and by serving the Cummins Filtration site even when transportation companies didn't want to collect anything in Italy”, said Graeme Green, EMEA Purchasing Leader at Cummins.
As a result, Ahlstrom-Munksjö’s Filtration business in Italy was awarded “The Outstanding Supplier” award recognition, which is offered only to those suppliers who have gone above-and-beyond to support Cummins during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"During the Covid-19 emergency and when Government restriction were changing daily, our customer service specialist Giuseppina Gigliotti was constantly in contact with Cummins France. There were weekly calls to find solutions to meet customers requirements", stated Paolo Mazzetta, Head of Sales Filtration EMEA at Ahlstrom-Munksjö.
Cummins Filtration designs, manufactures and distributes heavy-duty air, fuel, hydraulic and lube filtration, chemicals and exhaust system technology products for diesel and gas-powered equipment.
